The Loudon High School golf team traveled to Cleveland Monday for the District 5-A/AA tournament at Chatata Valley Golf Course.
Three golfers scored well enough to advance to Thursday's region tournament, which will be held at the same course.
Brett Knowles and Cody Townson qualified on the boys' side, and the Loudon boys team finished fourth out of nine teams behind Sequoyah, Boyd-Buchanan and Collegedale Academy. The fourth place finish means Loudon just misses the cut to send the team to the region tournament.
On the girls side, Loudon's Christina Lee shot well enough to qualify for Thursday's championship. Lee also advanced to the region last season.
The top teams and golfers from districts 5-and 6-A/AA will compete Thursday for one team and three individual spots in the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association State Championship, which will be held Oct. 1-2 at WillowBrook Golf Course in Manchester.
