The Lady Panthers' struggles continued Tuesday night as they traveled to West for a key District 4(3A) game and came away with a 52-35 loss.
After winning 10 of their first 14 games this year, the Lady Panthers have now dropped five of their last six contests and are just two games over the .500 mark overall. The Lady Panther offense struggled to get into gear Tuesday night as they managed just four points in the first quarter and tallied just 13 by halftime.
The defense kept the Lady Panthers in the game, allowing just 18 first half points, but West broke out in the third. The Lady Rebels scored 18 in the third quarter to just eight for Lenoir City, sealing the loss for the visitors.
Tyler Powers, Catherine Hunley and Shannon Parks began the fourth well for Lenoir City - scoring seven of the first 11 points - but West controlled the rest of the quarter. The Lady Panthers will return to action Friday at home against Maryville. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
