The Lady Redskins hung close the entire game but couldn't quite get the lead as they fell at Scott County Friday night 45-41. Jara Gasper did all she could to try to vault Loudon to a win as she tallied 21 points for the Lady Redskins.
The Lady Highlander offense was too much, however, as they won every quarter but one on their way to the four point win. Scott County held the early 16-12 lead after the opening period, but the Lady Redskins fought back to cut the gap to two at halftime - 23-21.
The third quarter was another low scoring period, as Loudon tallied just eight points. The Lady Highlanders were able to expand their lead by one, though, and took a 32-29 lead to the fourth. The two teams were nearly even again in the fourth, but Scott held the slight 13-12 advantage to clinch the victory.
Gasper was the lone Lady Redskin to score in double digits as she tossed in 21. Shay Anderson led the Lady Highlanders with 12 points and Whitney Phillips followed with 10.
The Lady Redskins will return to action Tuesday when they host Alcoa. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
