After building a 15-point lead at one point, the Loudon Redskins watched their lead completely evaporate in front of their eyes.
However, the Redskins were able to hang on in the second half to earn a 69-63 home win over Stone Memorial Friday night.

The Redskins took a 14-point lead to the break, but Stone was ready to start the second half.
Behind seven points by Zack Sherrill, the Panthers rattled off 13 straight points to start the third and cut the deficit to just one point.
The Redskins responded, however, as David Lee Haskins completed a three-point play and Josh Berry hit a layup.

The Redskins clung to that six-point lead until there was a minute and a half left in the third.  At that point, the Panthers went on another run, this time of five points, to cut the gap to one heading to the fourth.

The fourth began with Berry hitting a free throw and then Brandon Cole hitting a layup to tie the game at 45.  The outside shots began to fall for Loudon from here, however, as Jeffery Nichols hit a three from the top of the key and then Berry answered a pair of free throws by Stone with a three of his own.
Stone continued fighting back, however, and once again knotted the game at 58 with 2:25 left in the contest.

It was here that the Redskins took control, however, as Zac Strange and Haskins hit layups.  After a three-point play by Mason Fox cut the gap to one, Strange and Jacob Poynter combined for six straight points on free throws.
That run clinched the win for the Redskins.

"We buckled down and found a way to win," Loudon Head Coach Colt Narramore said after the game.  The coach added, "Our kids executed the gameplan better than they have since I've been here."
As for why his team surrendered the 15 point lead, Narramore joked, "I don't think we knew how to play (with a lead) like that."
However, down the stretch, Narramore said, "Gabe Hampton and Jacob Poynter defended their guts out."

The game was a virtual toss up early, but a Jordan Belvin jumper with 50 seconds left in the first quarter ignited an 11-0 run for the Redskins that launched them to their game-high 15 point lead.
Haskins led the Redskins with 19 points and Belvin followed with 10.

The Redskins will host CAK Tuesday night.  Game time is set for 8 p.m.
