Facing former Loudon Head Coach Shane Wells, the Redskins never trailed as they won at CAK 52-39 Tuesday night.
Josh Berry opened the game draining a three, but the Warriors kept things close early. After Berry's three, the Redskins slowly fought their way to a five point lead, but the Warriors hit a 5-0 run that tied the game late in the first quarter.
A 7-0 run by Loudon sent the game to the second with the Redskins ahead 18-11. Jacob Poynter and Jordan Belvin hit threes during the run and Berry completed it with a buzzer-beating layup. Berry and Zac Strange combined to put Loudon ahead by 10 early in the second, but the scoring grinded to a halt from there. Neither team scored for a 2:39 stretch, but it was CAK that broke that scoreless period.
The Warriors got a bucket with 32 seconds remaining in the half to cut the gap to seven, 25-18, heading to the break. A quick run by CAK cut the Loudon lead to two, but the Warrior momentum was cut short by a timeout by Loudon Head Coach Colt Narramore.
Coming out of the timeout, Berry took control - scoring seven straight points on a three and two sets of free throws. CAK answered Berry's run with a bucket, but Belvin drained a three to give Loudon a 37-27 lead after three.
The Redskins put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter as David Lee Haskins hit a bucket and Strange completed a three point play to put Loudon ahead by 15 early on. The Warriors were only able to trim a couple points off the lead from there and the Redskins held on for the 13-point win.
Berry led all scorers with 15 points, while Haskins tossed in 13. Strange added 11 to the effort and Belvin tallied 10.
