A Lenoir City woman crossed four lanes of traffic Monday
morning as she wrecked less than a mile past the Blount County line on Highway 321, according to
authorities.
Teresa Underwood, 49, of Simpson Road, was heading east bound on Highway 321
when, according to Tennessee Highway Patrolman Chris Best, she apparently overcorrected after she
weaved into the emergency lane and lost control of her vehicle. Best said it appeared she hit the
median and flipped two-and-a-half times before landing upside down in the grass on the westbound
side.
Underwood was conscious when she was cut out of her SUV, according to Best. She was
flown via Lifestar to UT Medical Center. Authorities on scene said she was likely driving within
the speed limit.
