A Lenoir City man robbed the CVS Pharmacy in
Lenoir City of a bottle of Oxycotin Saturday, June 20, with what appeared to be a concealed weapon,
according to Det. Jack Fine of the Lenoir City Police Department.
Robert
Arden, 23, of 444 Stinnett Rd., Lenoir City, was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, Fine
said.
The incident allegedly occurred around 1 p.m. when Arden was reportedly
lingering in the store for 15 to 20 minutes before he approached the pharmacist counter and demanded
a bottle of Oxycotin, Fine said. "It appeared that he had a weapon in his
hoodie."
The woman working the counter told the pharmacist
who then allegedly gave the bottle to Arden.
"They were able to pull up a
picture of the subject in question," Fine said. The woman working the pharmacy counter recognized
Arden and identified him for police.
K-9 units from the Lenoir City
Police Department and Loudon County Sheriff's Office reportedly found Arden at his residence and
were able to recover most of the pills, Fine said. They also recovered the black hoodie, hat,
sunglasses and water gun that Fine said Arden admitted to using in the robbery.
Arden was released on $25,000 bond.
Fine said there was great
cooperation between the LCPD and Sheriff's Office which led to the quick
arrest.
