Frances DeFord Veal, 85, of Lenoir City, passed away Monday,
Feb. 11, 2013. She had been a child of God and served her precious Lord for almost 70 years at
Bell Avenue and Highland Park Baptist churches. Frances was a former employee of the Cotton Mill,
Yale and Town (Scovill) and Allen's Shoe Barn.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Darwin Paul Veal; mother, Beulah DeFord; brother, Ralph; sisters, Gladys, Clarice, Thelma
and Evelyn. Survived by her children, Linda Dewitt, Grayling Veal and wife LaGonda, all of Lenoir
City, Cheryl Veal, Kim Monroe, both of Knoxville, Jonathan Veal and wife, Kim of Lenoir City; 11
grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; beloved friends, J.C. Peters, Sue Veal and a large extended
family.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir
City. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Tony Collins officiating. Family and friends
will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 Thursday morning and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 11
a.m. graveside services. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
