Arthur D. Hope, 91 Loudon, passed away at his home Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.
Arthur was a retired employee of the state of Tennessee, veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II and a dedicated member and deacon of First Baptist Church.
He was well known for his sense of humor and the beautiful woodworking that meant so much to him. He and his beloved wife, Dorothy Elkins Hope had a booth each year at Dollywood for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Ann Christian Hope; parents, Curtis and Elsie Campbell Hope; step-mother, Emma Watson Hope; and step-brother, J.L. Watson.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Linda Hope, Loudon; six grandchildren and spouses, Christi and Jonathan Ballinger, Carol and Jeff Taranova, Cathy Hope, Mike Hope, Angie Hope and Curtis and Melissa Hope.
Funeral services were held 7 p.m. Friday at Loudon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Everett officiating. Family and friends met at the Loudon County Memorial Gardens 10:30 a.m. Saturday for graveside services.
Visitation was held 5-7 p.m. Friday at Loudon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to First Baptist Church.
