Edward H. Petty, 76, of Lenoir City went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, Feb. 4, 2010.
He was a member of South Holston Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Janet Covington; by his son, Robert Hugh Petty; by his father, James Franklin Petty; by his mother, Verna Elsie Petty; by his brothers, Dennis Lee, Bill, Bob, Alec, Richard and Luther Petty; and by his sisters, Ruby Mae Johnson, Pearl Zelma Bivens and Carrie Turpin.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Richmond Kennedy, Donna and Bob Finger and Gail and Ronnie Maynard; by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Dee Dee Petty; by his grandchildren, Jennifer Carlton, Jerry Ricker, Pam Russell, Trina Selvidge, Laura Bennett, Casey Carver, Daniel Carver, Stephanie Christison, Jamie Petty, Nicky Petty and Kasie Petty; by 17 great-grandchildren; by his brother, the Rev. Sam Petty; and by his special friend, Dorothy Liford.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. George Seay and the Rev. Jack Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the South Holston Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers: Casey Carver, Daniel Carver, Jamie Petty, Sammy Maynard, Steven Bo Christison, Brad Bennett and Jerry Ricker.
