Gordon L. "Hoggie" Brewer, 80, of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at his home.
He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Holston Manufacturing in Knoxville. Gordon was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post #70.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Stella Brewer; by an infant brother; by his brothers, Paul "Picky" Brewer and Marion "Wimpy" Brewer; by an infant sister; and by his sisters, Oneda Vincil and Florence Clabough.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ruth Fritts Brewer; his special nephew, Mike Fritts; by many other nieces and nephews; by his brothers-in-law, Don Fritts and wife, Roma of Maryville and Gilbert Fritts and wife, Louise of New Baltimore, Mich.; by his  sister-in-law, Helen Foshee of Shreveport, La.; and by his special friend, Mary Yarbrough.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. George Seay officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery.
