Mrs. Nelle Marie Matlock, 89, of Fayetteville, Tenn., passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 in the Lynchburg Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Walter John and Gladys Alrie Dail Matlock. She was a native of Loudon and she lived for many years in Dayton, Ohio before moving to Lincoln County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed bridge and square dancing.
She was preceeded in death by her brothers, Jesse Matlock and Thomas Ballard Matlock.
She is survived by her children, Janice Fulton Duncan, Brenda Fulton Lunoe and husband, Stephen Lunoe, all of Fayetteville, Ronald Fulton and wife, Dorita Fulton of Mt. Pleasant, Tenn,; six grandchildren; by 10 great-grandchildren; by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and by her brother, Walter Edward Matlock of Columbus, Texas.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, Jan. 16 at 6 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Roy Hopkins officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 200 N. Elk Ave., Fayetteville, TN, 37334. Higgins Funeral Home of Fayetteville, Tenn. is in charge of arrangements.
