Wilda Axley Kennington, 77, of Lenoir City passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Summit View Health Care in Farragut.
She was a member of Sixth Avenue Church of God. Wilda was retired from Loudon Healthcare where she worked as a nurse with 25 years of service. She loved the outdoors, gardening and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Kennington; by her parents, Walter Axley and Effie Watts Axley; and by her brother, Franklin D. Axley.
She is survived by her children, John Kennington, Amy Kennington Vichich and husband, Jim and Beth Kennington Carroll, all of Lenoir City; by her step-daughter, Linda Sexton and husband, Mike of South Carolina; by her grandchildren, Justin and Ryan Vichich and Julia and Kymber Carroll; by her step-grandchildren, Danny Ray Sexton, Kimberly Sexton and Michael Sexton; by her step-great-grandchildren, Austin Hobbs and Michael Sexton III; by her special niece, Lisa Axley Hall; and by her special nephew, Frank D. Axley.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Johnny Garren officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Friday and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m.
