Donald Johnston, 72, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday morning, July 1, 2009, at his home after a long illness.
He was of the Baptist faith and a Mason. Donald was a retired meat cutter for Keener's Market and Eagle Foods.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Kirk Johnston; and by his parents, Callie and Gilbert "Doc" Johnston, formerly of 207 C Street Lenoir City.
He is survived by his children, Connie Donita Johnston and Donald Howard Johnston, both of Knoxville, Ralph Edward Johnston of Aurora, Ill. and Adam Scott Johnston of Clinton; his daughter-in-law, Terry Johnston of Knoxville; his grandchildren, Destiny, Amber and Tiffany Johnston, Heidi Jarvis and Ashley McPeake; his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Ethan, Eli, and Bailey May; his sisters, Carolyn Combs and Sherla Johnston; and by his brothers, Glenn Johnston and Ronald Johnston.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Bright officiating. Burial will follow in the Loudon County Memorial Gardens.
